Bentonite
Bentonite can be defined as transported layered clay formed by the weathering of volcanic ash. It consists of hydrated aluminum silicate or montmorillonite.
Sodium Bentonite is a natural clay that swells to approximately 20 times its original size when in contact with water. Bentonite clay is easily distinguished from other similar materials due to its highly absorbent structure when in contact with water.
